Eilean a’ Cheò
Our home, the Isle of Skye is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides and renowned for its natural beauty, history and
nature.
Nestled off the west coast of Scotland, the Isle of Skye is a place of unparalleled natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. It's not just our home; it's a haven for anyone who appreciates rugged landscapes, tranquil lochs, and a sense of history that permeates every hill and glen.
The isle of Skye is easily accessible by road via the famous Skye bridge although many visitors choose to take one of the various small or large ferries ‘over the sea to Skye’ from Mallaig or Glenelg.
A place steeped in history
History enthusiasts will find themselves at home here. The island's history is woven into its very fabric, from the ancient standing stones at Dunvegan to the
medieval castles that dot the landscape. The Clan MacLeod’s ancestral home, Dunvegan Castle, is a must-visit, providing a glimpse into the island’s storied past. Additionally, the Museum of Island Life offers fascinating insights into the daily lives of Skye’s inhabitants over the centuries.
A community like no other
Living on Skye means being part of a close-knit community that values tradition while embracing the present. Gaelic is still spoken here, and local festivals celebrate our Celtic heritage with music, dance, and storytelling. Whether it's
the lively Skye Highland Games or the more intimate local gatherings at village
halls, there’s always something happening to bring people together.
A place to call home
For us, Skye is more than just a beautiful place; it’s where our heart is. The serene environment, the warm community spirit, and the ever-changing beauty of the landscape make it an unparalleled place to live. Each season brings its own charm, from the vibrant heather blooms of summer to the peaceful, snow-dusted winters.
If you ever find yourself yearning for a place where time slows down, where nature’s beauty takes centre stage, and where every turn in the road reveals a new wonder, the Isle of Skye is waiting to welcome you.
We’re proud to call it home and hope you’ll fall in love with it just as we have.
