Manx Loaghtan Sheepskin Rug (Peel) - Tùs: Red Mie Farm

Introducing the Manx Loaghtan sheepskin rug to our Tùs range:

These fleeces have come directly from the Isle of Man where they are a native rare breed, currently on the watch list of the Rare Breeds Survival Trust. They evolved  from pre-historic short-tailed breeds found in North West Europe, alongside traditional Scottish breeds such as Hebridean, Shetland, Boreray and North Ronaldsay. The breed is known for its excellent breed and wool. 

These sheepskins, nicknamed Peel, are a medium size (90 cm x 65cm and over) with a gorgeous pale caramel coloured wool which makes them really striking.  The fleeces are usually quite thick and fluffy, with a medium pile, and quite soft to the touch.  Crafted in our Skye tannery, the leather is slightly less pliable than other sheepskins but still sueded and soft to touch.

These sheepskins will make for beautiful statements in your home as rugs or on chairs.

This is a washable sheepskin, at 30 degrees Celsius, on a wool cycle. To keep it looking good for longer, brush regularly with one of our slicker brushes.

Orders are usually dispatched within 2 working days of receiving your order, except where the item is made to order. In this case, please check the description on the item. 

We use tracked services for all orders.  Tracking information will be sent to you via the courier.  International tracking emails usually come through at least 48 hours after notification of dispatch. 

We usually expect UK parcels to arrive 3 to 5 working days from dispatch using a 48-hour delivery service. 

EU and US orders should take 7 to 14 working days and further afield to within 7 to 21 working days. If you require more information please contact us.

Free shipping to anywhere in the UK for orders of £150 and over.

Shipping is calculated at checkout when you enter the delivery address.  We ship worldwide.  

EU customers will be offered the option to pay duties & taxes at the point of purchase or to pay a shipping only rate. 

Please note that, with a shipping only rate, you will have to pay in-country tax and custom charges on arrival.  Although we offer a tracked Express service with DHL, custom checks may delay delivery and unless a duty paid service is available, in-country customs charges will apply.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused during custome checks, these are unfortunately outwith our control.

UK customers:

Exchanges and returns can be made within 14 days of receipt of the goods, without affecting your statutory rights. To request a return or exchange, please return the (unworn/unused) product using the returns form provided in your parcel to our Skyeskyns Waternish address. The original postage fee will be deducted from the refund issued, except in instances where the item is faulty, defective or sent in error. Products exchanged are sent out to you free of charge.
